Abstract

The most frequent problems of preoperative thyroid cancer diagnostics resulting in abnormalities in a therapeutic approach wore analyzed. For that the group of 113 patients treated in the Oryol region oncology centre in 2008 – 2009 years was retrospectively investigated. The analysis of data shown the most frequent problems wore committed in estimate of clinical disease manifestations in method of neck ultrasound in results of fine-needle aspiration biopsy. The analysis of 70 neck ultrasound reports was realized and the classification of most frequent problems of neck ultrasound was suggested. The conclusion was done that it was important to estimate exact localization and internal structure of visualized neck lymph nodes on both sides to patients with thyroid cancer suspicion. It is important to objective estimate the condition of contrary and pyramidal lobes of thyroid gland to take into ultrasound factors of tumorous invasion beyond the thyroid gland capsule. The choice of evidence and operating volume depend on the complex of pre-surgical diagnostic methods.
